Wow what a vacation....We had so much fun. I wanted to share some of the highlights by photo but Karla and I took way to many pictures. So you will have to sift through the library of pictures to choose what you want to see. Too many for me to narrow down....and yes I did get rid of some. We enjoyed perfect beautiful weather. One day was cloudy and it rained while we had lunch in a restrarant and then the last day on the beach it rained for five minutes. By the time we got the tent down and headed in, it had stopped raining. So we hung out at the pool. Madelyn started eating oatmeal cereal this week. She loves eating. She is now sitting independently and is eating here at home in the high chair. Jayden had a blast at the beach. He loved riding the waves and searching endlessly for seashells. He even was up at the crack of dawn and watched the sunrise with Karla and I while picking up seashells. He also rode a pony for the first time in his life. He was so comfortable with it and did not want to get off the pony. He also was able to independently pet a pig, sheep, goat and horse. We were such proud parents. We enjoyed Karla's company on this trip. It was great to have an extra set of hands. Thanks for being a great sister, aunt, friend, helper, and photographer. We had an awesome time with you and as usual you created some wonderful family memories with us. Tomorrow, I start a woman's Bible Study called Mentor Moms. I am really excited for Madelyn and Jayden to be involved in the church daycare program while I get spiritually fed. The group meets at a church not far from home and is reaching out to stay at home mothers. I think it is great that God has led me to this group. Then tomorrow afternoon, my mom and dad fly in from LA where they are spending time with Kristin. Oh and I forgot to mention that I am going to be an Aunt again. Kristin and Matt are expecting their first baby....YEAH , I am so excited for them.

We are going to the beach on Saturday and are praying for gorgeous weather. Huricane Hanna is headed for the Carolina coast but we are sure that God will prepare a resting place for us on our much needed family vacation. We are so happy to report that Kristin and Matt are safe and doing well as Hurricane Gustav moved over Baton Rouge LA. They did not evacuate due to last minute emergency shut downs at their chemical plants. They hunkered down and stayed for the Labor Day Hurricane that brought 95 mile per hour winds and rains through their neighborhood. The house had no damage. They are on day three of no electricity and no working phone lines. But praise God they are safe with no damage to their home. Jayden is excited to check off the days on the calendar as we get closer to our trip and his birthday. He is so excited to go back to the ocean and sand. Here is some new things that Madelyn and Jayden are doing: Jayden is now: -stacking and building with wooden blocks, pillows, riding vehicles, small cars, and his snacks and food -says Mommy hold you, Good evening Daddy, Good morning Mady, NOT-This toy is yellow NOT blue -Counts to 20 with one or two mistakes in the upper teens -Sings all day long -Loves to dance and jump with Mady. He holds her hands -Loves bath time with daddy and his Mickey Mouse bubbles -Enjoys coloring pictures -Wants to be read to constantly---enjoys getting new library books every few weeks
Madelyn is now: -Sitting for 15-20 minutes with pillows around her just in case she topples over -still doesn't enjoy tummy time very long.....reflux is a problem when prone -Reflux has improved but she continues to need a bib all day long. She continues on her Axid -She loves her Johnny Jumper and so does Jayden .....he jumps next to her on the hardwood floor and they giggle jumping together

This weekend I went for a spontaneous trip to Sparkling Springs where my Grandmother and parents were hanging out for the weekend. I decided on friday at 11 am that I would go with the children to VA since Josie had to work for the weekend. This was the longest ride of Jayden and Madelyn's life. It took about 7 hours one way. We left early Saturday morning and came back on Monday. I learned a thing or two.
God never gives us more than we can handle. And Praying is such a powerful weapon.
The children did wonderful even though there were some hours of crying. All in all Jayden listened to his mother and was a great big brother. Madelyn had some good moments where she was very happy and then some not so happy moments....as to be expected for such a long ride. Josie prayed for us as well as my parents, aunt and myself. I was delayed a little longer than wanting to leave from the cabin due to all the packing and diaper changes last minute. However I know that it was in God's timing for me to leave. One hour down the road I came upon an accident which had just occured...We waited for EMS vehicles to arrive on seen while I sat and praised God for slowing my start to the trip. The accident was a bad one with an 18 wheeler side ways across the road and a four car pile up following it. I sat and prayed for the victims on the road as several drivers were out of their cars assisting the injured. I am so reminded of God's awesome power and was amazed how Josie felt called to pray for us just minutes before the accident. My call to him to let him know of the accident which shook me up, was not as big of a surprise to him since he was praying for our safety that afternoon. Now we are home and Jayden has been hugging his toys, the ottoman, TV and books that did not come with us on our trip. He had a blast exploring in the woods. New things that Jayden discovered in VA: moss, acorns, old school-water pump, pine cones, cabins, and porch swings. He loved his time in the cabin and could not believe how close the ceiling was to his bed. He also got to feel a frog for the first time with grandma holding it...Thank goodness for grandmothers....I wouldn't have done that. Here are some pics of our trip to the zoo and Sparkling Springs Cabin

Today I took Madelyn and Jayden to a jump arena with several large jumping inflatables. This was his second visit to a jump arena. He visited one the other weekend on his day out with Daddy. We had a free coupon and shared one with my friend, Nella. Nella brought her two children, ages 3 and 5. It was a lot of fun to see Jayden enjoying being airborn. We watched some clips this morning of the Olympics (last nights events). Jayden was very entertained by the floor tumbling exercise in women's gymnastics. I think he would love taking a gymnastics class due to the fact that he enjoys so much proprioceptive input and is very agile. He continues to swing from everything in the house. His favorite is between the gate bars at the top and bottom of the steps, Madelyn's swing bars and his swing set bars outside.
Madelyn is coming into her own little personality and boy does she have plenty of personality. Today she was attacking a small stuffed animal duck of Jayden's. It was cute to see her use two hands to bring it to her mouth and then push it away to see what furry object she was eating. This week, she has perfected several new sounds. She is using the d sound and seemed to say da da when Josie got home on Monday night. He was so excited to hear that both of our children said the da sound before the ma sound. I guess she will probably follow in Jayden's footsteps, learning to say dada before mama.
This morning, we called my mother and sang This is the day .....to her ove the phone. She loves to hear from him and have him sing a song to her. It started out with her singing to him over the speakerphone. She loved teaching him to sing Jesus Loves Me. She has been singing that song to him since he was two months old on her first visit. I have been starting out my day rejoicing with this song (This is the day) while making my morning cup of coffee. I realize how important it is to worship and sing to the Lord and to declare that you will have a good day in front of your children. It really does set the tone for the day. Jayden just picked up and started singing this song while brushing his teeth later this morning so I thought mom would appreciate hearing it from his mouth.
Monday we went to the library and checked out 18 books. We have read all but two as of today. Jayden's favorite is Dilly Duckling. This book is so cute. It has fuzzy pictures of ducks just like the fuzzy book (Hello in the Jungle) that my Aunt Debbie sent to him. Cute story line by Claire Freedman which is the author of I love you Sleepyhead-mom got Jayden this book for Christmas. I definately highly recommend this one too. I am trying to come up with a list of books for Christmas and Birthdays. Claire Freedman is one of my favorite authors in children's books. Her stories of animals captivate Jayden's attention. He loves to read. On my wish list for Jayden and Madelyn are several of Claire Freedman's books. Hushabye Lily, Snuggle Up Sleepy Ones, Goodnight Sleep Tight, Dilly Duckling, Follow that Bear if You Dare, and Oops-a-Daisy. We borrowed several of these from the library and loved them. I think I will keep an eye on used book stores and Amazon to find them for better rates. Also I am looking for Hardback only. So if you see them for a great deal let me know. Have a great one. My two sleepyheads are finally sleeping at the same time. I guess I need to get busy with laundry now.

Well I can't say that I can run as fast as Forest but I am working on training for a 5k. Last night I ran 2.1 miles outside with lots of hills. Josie has been staying with the kids once they go down at night while I go out for 30 minute runs. It is motivating for me to try to reach 3.2 miles and also helping me to loose weight. I am excited to be able to run again. I didn't get into it after I had Jayden and so it has been over 2 1/2 years since I ran.
Madelyn is now prop sitting for about 5 minutes and reaching for toys while trying to sit. She prefers sitting than laying down now. Jayden is talking circles around her and enjoying holding her. She giggles with his fast jumps and spontaneous movements in front of her. It is awesome to see them play and interact now.
Josie is sleeping in this Saturday morning. He decided to tackle the fish aquarium project last night. He changed all the gravel out of a 55 GALLON tank. Now we have more natural stone look with live plants. This took him till after 1 am. I gave up at 12:30 and went to bed. Thanks honey for making the aquarium look so good.
Well I must go....diaper duty calls again...

This morning Jayden and Madelyn went for a walk with me in the double stroller at 7:50 am....it was nice. We headed to the playground equipment. Lately the heat has been keeping us from playing on the playground equipment here in the neighborhood unless we get out early before the sun hits it. Jayden doesn't like to sit on the sliding boards if they are at all hot...He got burnt on a metal sculpture downtown at the Children's Park a few weeks ago. Madelyn had a great morning today. No spit-up at all with her early feeding. She slept until 7:15 this morning, but my son was up at 6:15. Oh well, he helps me start my day with a hug and kiss as daddy gets him and puts him in bed with me while getting ready for work.
I am excited for this weekend. Josie and I are going to switch out our fish aquarium stones for new ones. This is an all day project due to it being a 55 gallon tank. We have to save over 50% of the water for the live plants to survive. We have baby fish that have finally grown large enough to survive a water/stone replacement. This weekend is supposed to have acool front move through. So we will only be in the high 80s on Sat and Sunday.
Last night was the finale of So You Think U Can Dance. Josie and I watch this show every week. What an awesome finale! The winner was amazing and was Josie's pick from the very beginning. He credited the blessing to the Lord ....What a testimony...It was amazing to see some of the best dances from the season. We are hoping to get to go and see the show in Charlotte NC with Karla. But are unsure of how Madelyn would do for us to travel to Charlotte--bottles have been a thing of the past lately.
Looking forward to our time in Hilton Head. I love the beach and am hoping for good waves. We will take one body board and split the time in the water on the board. I saw a father pulling his young son on the body board as he ran through the water right at the shore line. The child was having a blast. I hope to try it with Jayden if he can hold on tightly...We will see. I will try to get pics added to this blog today from our weekend with grandparents. Here are the pictures as promised....Sorry you can sort through what you want to see. These are from the last month. The pictures include July 4th pics, trip to playground in Greenville, cuddle time with Jayden and Madelyn, play time with Jayden's friend Sammy and Jonah, day outing to downtown Children's park in greenville (feeding the ducks and playing in the gardens, Madelyn's baby dedication ceremony, trip to Charleston to see grandparents

As I lay here reflecting on today's devotion (Josie and I are half way through Dr. James Dobson's Night Life for Parents Devotional-great book), I realize that having quality moments with my children is just as important as the quantity of time with my children. Right now as a stay at home mother I have a lot of time with my children. But I need to remember that although I have a large quantity of time with them, I need to make the most of every minute (even if I am in the middle of a chore and Jayden wants me to read him the same book for the fourth time that day). I feel so blessed to be chosen by God to be a mother to Jayden and Madelyn. They bring me so much joy. My favorite quality moment with Jayden recently was the chance to witness him experiencing one of God's greatest pieces in nature....The OCEAN.
Jayden was in amazement as his feet sunk into the sand with each new wave that gently washed over his feet. He grabbed for my hand as he felt unsteady and not quite sure of this movement beneath him. I loved seeing his smile as he searched with me through the sand, digging for the smallest seashells. It is so fun to hear him say that word. He was so good at collecting these tiny treasures as he sifted through clumps of wet sand. This truly is what quality time is all about. Just Jayden sitting between my legs while we used our senses to explore God's beauty in nature (what a perfect gifts to us). I am starting to take more time to cherish every small moment with my children. I know that they are only young once and these moments are going by so fast. It seems like yesterday when Jayden was just born and I longed to explore the world with him. Now I can and it is such a gift to be along side my husband as we teach Jayden and Madelyn about this beautiful world that God has designed for us. Thanks for the awesome time at Folly Beach , South Carolina.
PS I highly recommend James Dobson's Night Light for Couples and his Night Life for Parents. PSS Thanks Jenni for inspiring me to live every day to it's fullest. I loved seeing you so happy while you danced with your neices and hearing about your unchanging faith through your testimonies. We are praying for you daily and expecting a miracle (no need for more brain surgeries, a complete and miraculous Healing from the Creator Himself). Thanks for blogging. We love you.

Just finished making dinner and it is 2:30 , kids are both napping (what a blessing). I have managed to do touch up painting on my house this week. Somehow with a one year old, my walls have red, black, and blue streaks on the bottom two feet of my walls, especially the hallways.
Boys will be boys.....he loves his riding Tonka truck, car and Radio Flyer red rocket that were all gifts from family members. Thanks....hehe. Jayden is now testing limits lately with staying in his bed for naps and night time. This is new for us, he has always gone to bed and stayed in bed through the night until we get him in the morning. Gone are those days.
Potty training is still a constant challenge. No signs of him just miraculously wanting to get out of diapers....waiting for that day.
He is now singing songs to us every time we turn around and can count to 15. He also sings the alphabet song , leaving out only L through O. His favorite thing to do lately besides reading books is to dance with daddy after work. He request it last night....He is now able to imitate a lot of Josie's awesome moves. AFter dancing Jayden requests to play ring around the rosy...He loves when we get to the all fall down part.
Jayden also has been enjoying the sandbox too. This is a great thing since he will taking a beach trip soon. At the beginning of the summer he didn't tolerate sand too well. He has been asking about his Papap and Grandma and when they will be coming in the airplane. I think it is so cute when he sits in his highchair and says Where's Papap and Gandma? They come in September after visiting Matt and Kristin in LA. We are taking our first road trip with the two kids this weekend to Charleston to see Josie's parents. Jayden is looking forward to that trip and has colored them a picture to take along. (He is easily engaged for 15 mins at at time with crayons in the high chair while I am preparing dinner most nights).
Madelyn has been doing really well for three days. She continues to spit up but this week is not vomitting as much. She is currently taking Axid and a new medicine called Bio Gaia. This is to help with the flora in her digestive system. Something is working well. Because she is now having dirty diapers about every two to three days or more...much better than her usual 8-9 day cycle. She was miserable after that many days.
She is loving time with her brother. Jayden is a great big brother....he dotes over her. Kissing her feet, head and hands every time she is down at his level. He asked to hold her during story time in his bed yesterday. I was amazed at how well he did. He held her aournd the tummy for several minutes...kissing her head and talking to her.
She is still addicted to her pacy, she at night we have to go in occasionally around 5-6 am to return it to her mouth before she cries histerically over the pacy thief. She struggles to keep it in her mouth when she also wants to play with it in her hands.
Well i need to run and feed Madelyn now that she is waking.....before she wakes Jayden. Take care.

Today was a bit tough for everyone.Madelyn had her four month check up. We forgot to take a snack for Jayden or his sippy cup. Josie stayed with him in the waiting room while I had Mady Jane with the doc. She started crying immediately upon his examining her. I don't know if she didn't like her ears looked at or what. She would not stop crying for a pacy, nursing, diaper change or burping and rocking. He wasn't sure if we should do the shots today but I insisted that I wanted to get them over while I had Josie off work to assist with Jayden. Jayden was having a difficult time in the lobby because we were in this appointment for one and a half hours. So we got her four month shots and she screamed for 45 mins. until she fell asleep in the car. She would not nurse and therefore missed a feeding. Her length is now in the 75th %, weight in 65%, and head circumference is 63%. The doctor is pleased with her growth but concerned with her screaming in pain while in his office. He looked at her axid dosage and determined that she is under the dosage for her weight. He more than doubled her dosage. From .75ml 2xday to 2 ml 2x day....He thinks that she will feel much better with this increase. I told him that I think she is already doing a lot better from our last visit, but yesterday she had some projectile vomitting again in early evening hours. Maybe her dose was too low and wearing off....We will see. I am so happy that he is looking out for her and that we don't have to wait to make changes on this med until sept when we go back to the GI specialist (who is the one who ordered this dosage.) Well i must go and check on Madelyn as she is a little angel sleeping from all the trauma this morning. I hate to see her miserable like that....it makes me hurt for her.

Quick blog post on a cute thing that happened tonight after bath time. Josie and Jayden were playing in Jayden's room while I sat on Jayden's bed watching. Josie was making one of Jayden's elephant stuff animals dance with a tail swishing behind it. Jayden thought this was awesome as daddy drew attention to the elephants tail. Jayden turned in circles like a cat chasing his tail....and said..Jayden's tail?? He was searching for his tail as he too wanted to dance with a swishing tail...It was priceless. We wished that we had a video camera to capture the moment. We had a great day today. Hope you did too.

I love how long we get to enjoy these flowers. However they are most beautiful early in the morning when they first open. As the day goes on, the sun wheres on them and they fade away. But each morning a new one blooms and starts the process all over again. Well, I was able to take photos this morning of these white Hibiscus flowers in our back yard...Hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did photographing them and watching a bee enjoy them as well.

Wow...I feel so blessed...Madelyn had the best day of her life yesterday. She only had a little bit of spitting up and was very happy. We went to the pool and Jayden swam all over the pool. He swims with floaties and a swimsuit that has floatation pads within it. He is now able to jump into the pool without assistance. He holds his breath and goes under water with the jump and then bobs to the surface laughing. He loves the water just like his mommy. He is able to swim the length of the pool with his kicking and somewhat doggy paddling. Madelyn is now: Sitting in the bumbo chair for 10 minutes without head control. Props on her forearms for 5 minutes. Rolls from tummy to back. She giggles now when tickled under her chin. Shakes and holds a rattle for several minutes before dropping it. Sleeps 12 1/2 hours at night with waking only for a wet diaper at 5:30 am and then she goes right back to sleep with the pacy. I also feed her at 9 pm and 11pm while she is sleeping. But finally the house is peaceful for Josie and I around 8 pm most nights. Jayden is now talking in 4-5 word sentences...He is jumping off a variety of objects. He assists with Madelyn's bath, helps to place Mady's pacy back into her mouth. Requests to read about ten books a day at least....Can count 1-11 independently...Says A-G and W-Z of the alphabet song. He can sing Jesus loves me, BaBa black sheep, and He's got the whole world in His Hands. He loves to sing and dance and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Hot Dog Dance is one of his favorites.
Here is a link to pictures of our garden, flowers, time with friends at the pool, and just Madelyn and Jayden playing around the house. http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=8pqg8gei.bhgmq036&x=0&y=-yjhotm&localeid=en_US
Hope all is well with you...

Well the weather has been hot here in SC...so Jayden and Mady have been inside more. We went for a photo shoot today at JcPenneys. Kristin can understand how challenging this can be with two children and one adult. We got some good pictures even through the screaming and tantruming. Jayden wanted to pull all the props off the shelf even though we brought our own toys and props. I learned from last time....he needed things to play with as we waited to choose our pictures from the computers. This past weekend was great. I got to enjoy a Mother's Day massage and facial on Saturday and went yardsaling with my sister Karla on Saturday morning. We took Mady while Josie and Jayden had some father son time together. Jayden is enjoying time with his friend Sammy. We went to their house on Saturday night for dinner and fun in the sprinkler. Jayden enjoyed trying to play Croquet with his friend Sammy ( a children's version). It was so cute to see them try to swing the mallet at the balls with only one hand on the stick. We also went to church and I enjoyed an afternoon of scrapbooking with Karla. I realized how far behind I am in placing pictures into albums. Well I need to go and help my son draw circles on his Aquadoodle. I is requesting my help.....Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine....but remember to wear sunscreen. Janelle

Jayden had a new adventure today. After mommy and Madelyn took him to get a hair cut, he played in the pool in our back yard. He started in shorts and a diaper but was not happy when his diaper started to get water logged and his shorts were soaked. So mommy allowed him to get naked and play in the water. After sunscreen was sprayed all over, Jayden quickly learned how to slip and slide into the water off the edge of the pool and the plastic chair that sat next to the pool. He had a blast in the cold water. Later, Mady played and talked to mommy with plenty of smiles. Her smiles just light up my world. Here are some pictures of her today (in the pink striped butterfly tank) and pictures of our Memorial Day weekend at the pool and our day with Sami at his pool last thursday. Jayden asks everyday if he is going to see his friend Sami. http://picasaweb.google.com/janellewilder/MemorialDayWeekend I also added pictures of some of the flowers that have been added to our backyard.

It began with a call from Bank of America....a fraud alert automated call. Thank goodness for tighter security measures now. We had someone charging things to our account. Frustrating....but at least we caught it before the weekend. I am looking forward to going to our pool with the babes this weekend. We went to our friend's pool yesterday and had a blast. Jayden loved the water. He attempted to blow bubbles with his face in the water and enjoyed jumping from the edge of the pool with hands held. He loves his friend Sami. Well, today ended with a bang also as Mady projectile vomitted across her room two times. Bottle feedings are not going well. She gets so upset that when she goes to nurse she has so much air in her stomach that nothing will stay down. Needless to say, I am so loving a peaceful house at 10 pm. I work again in the front beds of our house today, laying down more mulch. This week I have planted new flowers, trimmed the shrubs and layed more mulch. It is finally starting to look better.....but still not as good as I would like. It is a work in progress. I am so happy to share the news that my cousin and his wife are heading home from the hospital today. Thanks for all those who have been praying. God is good. Well, I need to run and feed my little angel one more time before I drift off to sleep. Goodnight

A day in the sun with Jayden is priceless. He has finally tolerated walking barefoot in the grass and putting his feet barefoot into the sandbox. This was a major accomplishment. He has sensory issues with tactile input.....see I didn't have to stop being a therapist just because I resigned from my OT job.....Jayden is learning so much every day. I can't believe that he comes running to us to tell us that he loves us. It is so cute.
I have had a great week. My husband and I celebrated our third year of marriage and six years of togetherness. I am even more in love with him now. We were able to get out and enjoy some time together while our friends watched Mady and Jayden on friday night and then Karla watched them on Sunday night. We felt so blessed to have this time together. Here are some pictures that are from the last month...sorry for the delays.

Wow, today was tough. The Wilder family went to the doctor for shots for Mady who is two months old and Jayden who is getting his 18 mth shots. Mommy held Jayden and Daddy had to hold Madelyn. I think I got the better end of the deal after hearing her screams from down the hallway. We were emotionally worn out when we got home. Jayden is doing well, but Mady had to have three shots and one oral vaccine. She is miserable this afternoon. In between cries and naps, I went outside to complete a new hobby of mine. I recently was inspired by a neighbor to get into gardening. Josie met us a few days ago on his lunch break and we picked out a car load of perinealls for the front yard.. Last week we finished a garden in the backyard of mostly annuals. We are excited to see blueberries already on our new blueberry bushes. Josie planted two blueberry and two blackberry bushes in this garden.
I was excited to find my flowers that I have been admiring. They are called Salvia and they are full of purple flowers. I seem to have a thing for purple flowers ever since our wedding. I also planted Shasta Daisies and a Mounding perenneal which has a beautiful red flower in it. I can't wait to see how it blooms. I felt so blessed as soon as I finished gardening, the rain started and after the rain, my Shasta Daisies began to bloom. What an awesome God we serve. I felt so blessed that God continues to poured down his blessings on us.
I am loving the stay at home mommy role. We have been so busy with zoo trips, play dates, gardening, keeping up the house and just simply spending time with my two cute angels. I love it.
New things: Madelyn rolled from her belly to back yesterday when my friend Melissa came to visit with her new baby Will. Baby Will is so cute and tiny. Mady is smiling and cooing at us more and more. She looks as if she is falling in love with us as she gazes into our eyes and studies our facial expressions. Bottle feedings have been difficult .....seems all too familiar as her brother did not want the bottle either. Jayden is saying four word sentences. I love you Mommy/Daddy, I see you Mommy/Daddy Jayden is also able to help Mommy with identifying all the laundry and to whom each piece belongs too. Madelyn slept six hours in a row the other night...not consistently but hey it gives us hope that a full night is approaching soon. Jayden is able to jump over objects on the floor (such as Daddy's leg). He jumps everywhere we go. Jayden says "Bless you Mommy", with each sneeze Jayden is pretend playing now with his Tiger stuffed animal. He feeds it (with his sippy cup), puts it to bed, plays ball with him, and attempts to change his diaper He is starting to learn his colors and he is able to identify a circle, triangle, and oval ---We have Baby Einstein to thank partially for this. He still loves these movies.
Anyway, I need to run and feed a hungry little girl. Take care ....I promise pictures are on the way soon. I have to make time to download them.

Happy Mother's Day to all the special mother's especially mine. I realize every day how awesome she is to have raised four children. Well I had a great weekend. We went to the zoo for the second time this week. This time we went with Josie and Karla and some friends of hers. Jayden had a blast and daddy enjoyed his time with his son. We also admired some of our neighbors landscaping and decided to add a bit more to ours. We are enjoying the herb and flower garden that Josie add this year. I love cooking with fresh herbs. Jayden is loving his outdoor time with us. We have been spending more and more time out on our deck and are looking into adding on to the size of our deck. Sunday was a special day at church. We had our Resurrection Seed sunday.

I love the spring in South Carolina...Jayden and I have been outside every day that we can...He loves playing in the pool that we bought for him. We also just got a sand box. He is not so sure about that....some sensory issues on his feet. He has issues with walking barefoot in the grass too. We are working on that. He made me so proud yesterday using the potty two times in a row. Of course, I have to pursue him using it but at least he is getting the idea. He likes the potty downstairs with a musical feature to it....hehee it sings when you potty. Madelyn is getting better with her reflux this week. She is having a growth spurt and eating more this week. But she is also keeping more food in her tummy....yeah I am so excited to get my hair cut today....hopefully it looks good and will be easy to keep up with. Well I will try to post pictures soon.

Hello to all friends and family.... this is my first post since we arrived home with our new little angel-Madelyn Jane Wilder. Thanks to my sister Karla who was able to blog and post her birth info and pictures in the last blog post. The first three weeks have been a little tough to adjust to. Madelyn has been having difficulty with reflux which has made her a little colic. She is doing better now that we have started her on Zantac. She continues to have an upset stomach often; however she is not screaming several hours a day. My parents and sister (Karla) graciously helped us for the first two weeks home and then we had one week on our own. Now my sister Kristin is in from Louisiana to help us. Jayden is going through a major transition with Mady joining our family. He has needed some extra attention and time with mommy and daddy. I love being with him and loving on him. He is growing so fast and his learning amazes us daily. Today he went for a hair cut with daddy. He was able to say hair cut afterwards. This week he surprised us by using the potty. He is so excited to be able to go pee pee on his new potty. We will see how long the excitement lasts. Madelyn went in for an ultrasound yesterday. The results were all positive. Her pyloris (bottom of the stomach) is normal. Often this muscle can restrict food from passing into the intestines correctly. She has been on medicine for reflux since Thursday night. We have seen some good results but are hoping that she continues to improve with her ability to tolerate each feeding. After we get her feeling better, we will work with her on her Babywise schedule. She has been doing better the past two nights. Thanks to all who have checked in on us, brought meals to us, phoned us, sent gifts and most of all prayed for us. We appreciate all the care and support through this exciting new chapter of our lives.

Jayden, Josie and I are getting excited. Only 11 more days to go until we meet Ms. Wilder. Jayden has been kissing my tummy and rubbing it to say hello to his baby sister. When asked where his baby sister is, Jayden runs to me and pulls my shirt up to reveal the expanding belly. He is growing so fast and continues to amaze us each day with the new things that he is able to say. On friday night, Karla babysat for us while we had a date night. After arriving home, Karla showed us several video clips of Jayden. He learned to say the word umbrella. He continues to repeat this word over and over. I think he loves the attention he gets from all of us being amazed at him learning a three syllable word so quickly. He putting two words together now saying...help me, bye bye daddy, more cracker. He is now able to say Amy which is one of his daycare worker's names. He is such a social butterfly. When out to eat, Jayden waves and says bye bye to all he passes as he heads out the door. Last night during bath time, Jayden decided to try to go swimming in the bath. He crawls on his hands and knees and then places his face under water without reservation. The first time he tried this, I flipped out thinking he was going to drown. He then thought it was funny and continued to crawl the length of the tub several times to place his face under water. I am looking forward to having my parents here with the birth this time. With Jayden's birth, my mother had a hip surgery and did not get to see him for two months. This time she will get to be a part of helping with Jayden and holding Jayden's sister as a newborn. Last month we had maternity pictures made with our whole family. Here is a link to that site if you are interested in seeing more photos. We will let you all know as soon as she arrives.
Take care and keep us in your prayers for a safe and healthy C section delivery on March 14th. Thanks to all who have lifted us up throughout the last few weeks of illnesses and fatigue.

Well thank goodness for safe antibiotics ...The MD put me on the Z pack last week and I have finally kicked this sinus infection which wore me out. As I began getting my energy back this weekend, Jayden started to dictate my every move. I think he is going through seperation difficulties. I could not even walk three feet away from him without hearing him start to fuss. He was either in my arms or hanging onto my legs while I walked about the house.
I was able to get a lot completed during his nap times. I think I have started into that nesting phase. I was able to bring down baby clothes (gender neutral) from the attic and get them washed up for Jayden's sister. I also cleaned out the entire refridgerator. Josie and I organized and shop vacced the garage. We were able to add a much needed shelf there for more storage. I feel like we are constantly looking for more space. I can't imagine when there is four in the house.
We were also able to get a head start on Christmas shopping. I am looking forward to putting the tree up next Saturday. We will take Jayden to pick one out again this year. I am sure he does not remember last years tree picking. We leave for Charleston on Thursday for Thanksgiving and Christmas get together with Josie's family.
I can't believe how fast this past year has flown. I have enjoyed it so much and am looking forward to 2008. A year of harvest....
Thank you Josie for making our home a warm place to come home too.

Josie has started his new job and had Veterans Day off yesterday. I was excited for him, he deserves to celebrate this day since he served in the Marines for four years. I'm very proud of you baby.
Last night Jayden was at home with daddy when I got home from work. He gave me the biggest hug when I walked through the door. Wow, how amazing is that. He was dressed in his sweater jacket with shoes on and ready to go for a walk with mommy and daddy. We started to walk around the block with Jayden in the stroller when I got the idea to try out the new playground equipment in our development. Jayden has never been to a playground. We knew that he was ready to try a slide for the first time.
How awesome to see our son's huge beautiful smile as he mastered the slide for the first time. He grinned from ear to ear as he pointed up to the top of the slide again. He was lifted to the top of the slide for several minutes of rides. Daddy and mommy got a workout lifting him from the bottom of the slide to the top and catching him again and again.
We had such a great time....I love being a parent and getting to join Jayden in his excitement with each new adventure....Sliding boards with smiles and giggles made my day yesterday...Just thought I would share.

Well, we will let you know her name in March. We have to keep something a surprise..... We are so excited to be having a little girl. We just found out on November 1st, that Jayden is having a sister. It was very surprising to Josie and I since we felt that we were having a boy again. We made the US technician check two times to make sure. We were so happy to be able to share the news with our families. This is the first grand-daughter for my mother and first great grand-daughter for my grand-mother Esther.
Josie and I were just so happy that we did not have to come up with a boy name that we both agreed on. We were set on our daughter's name during our pregnancy with Jayden.
Jayden is now 1 year old. He had a blow out of a birthday party. He had cake all over his face and was so blessed with presents. He loves all the books, ride toys, puppets, musical toys etc. Thanks to all our friends and family that surprised him with gifts. He is doing so much. He is now walking really well. He walks from room to room and follows us if we leave a room. He chooses to walk rather than crawl now. He is able to carry heavy toys while walking and actually runs behind his push toys (Retro Rocket, Tonka ride toy, and car). Jayden is saying about 15-20 words now. I am so impressed with how well he picks up words. He requests "help", asks for crackers/cookies, says bib when seated in his high chair. He uses sign language more, please, drink and all done. He says hat, up-to be picked up, cup, socks, duck, quack -quack, mama, daddy, diaper, "ba"-for bath.
My favorite thing is to see Jayden dance to his musical toys and to his baby Einstein videos. He loves his new room that I painted for him. Right now, he just plays in it, but in a few months we will try to transition him before the baby arrives. That way he is adjusted before she comes into his world. I am praying that he adjusts well to having a sister. We are trying to work on teaching him to be gentle. He is all boy, loves rough play, and is a little too rough sometimes with mommy.
Jayden is also able to climb the stair well by crawling with mommy or daddy walking closely behind him. So we have to keep the gaits closed at all times for his safety. I am feeling baby girl kicking and moving around a lot. She often is more active after sugary foods. Josie felt her move for the first time last weekend before he left for his training with his new job.
Jayden and I were flying solo this past week. We missed Josie so much. I realized how difficult it would be to be a single mom. I only had to fly solo for a week and a half. Boy, were we happy when daddy came home. Jayden was able to stay up late on friday to welcome daddy home. The neighborhood had fireworks display as Josie was pulling up into the driveway. So Jayden and I were on the doorstep watching fireworks and waving to daddy as he arrived home. We are so happy to have you home honey...
Sorry for all of our friends and family for taking so long to blog again.

What an awesome weekend. My friend Sandi called and surprised me with a visit. Her and her sister, Marie came to have dinner with us on friday and lunch with us on Saturday. We had a wonderful time. They were able to meet Jayden for the first time and boy did he eat that up. He loves to flirt with the ladies. Well, we also planned on going for a hike to a waterfall which in the South Carolina Waterfalls Hiking book stated the difficulty was moderate. We got to the trailhead and realized the book had lied. The kiosk read very strenuous. We decided to attempt the hike anyway. We had quite a hike to the top of 1.2 miles. The kiosk read that we climbed 1000 feet in that short distance which doesn't seem too bad if you are in shape, not pregnant and not carrying a 20 lb baby on your back. Josie worked really hard to get Jayden up the mountain and Karla was so gracious to assist with getting him to the waterfall and back down the mountain. We also realized that we packed too heavily. I had bottles diapers baby food and more. I was wishing that I would have left some behind since the hike was only 1 hour up and 1 hour down. We did hang out at the waterfall for about 45 minutes which got really cold because of the cool mist spraying off the falls. What a beautiful creation...God is so magnificent. Well I hope you all enjoy the pics and get to enjoy some of God's splendor like we did. http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=8pqg8gei.20jwbq42&x=0&y=7sj9px

This weekend we have been hanging out at home playing with Jayden. He is crawling after us now. He crawled the front hallway into the kitchen to come find mama for the first time today. Yesterday he had his first kiss, which he initiated. We were in the office upstairs doing some work. Jayden was playing beside the single bed which held many toys. He leaned into his pick up truck which had an armidillo stuffed animal in the back of it. He looked at it funny since he had never played with it before. Then he leaned in to give it a kiss on the mouth. It was soooo cute....then he smacked his lips again in the air. I told Josie and I think he was trying to turn it into a princess with a kiss. We wish we had the video camera on at the moment. It was the sweetest thing although Josie and I were a little jealous that he didn't kiss us first. Oh well...another day. Here is a link to many pics of our summer adventures. The pics include our trip home to see family during my grandfather Elmer Showalter's funeral. Also, some pics of home improvements (painting and crown molding the living room and dining room) while Jayden was crowded in a pile of toys. He had his first taste of pizza crust that weekend. Jayden loves his bath time and bath toys. We also have pics of my cuz Jolinda and her daughter Marin....How sweet is she. Also I added pics of the hibiscus flowers and butterfly bushes that we planted in our backyard this year. They are in bloom still. They have been blooming since July 3rd when my parents came for a visit. Hope you all enjoy the pics, sorry it took so long to get them up on this site. http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=8pqg8gei.3dbc3y82&x=0&y=mgejtj

Friends and Family I can finally share with you all, our exciting news. Jayden is going to be a big brother.....Yeah Many of you know but we could not blog about it due to the fact that we had not shared this information at our workplaces. We are very happy to also let everyone know that we will be finding out the gender of the baby, if the baby wants us to know, on our 20 week ultrasound. Right now we are seven weeks pregnant. I go in for my first ultrasound on August 15, 2007. We are praying that God grants us peace, financial wisdom and resources to grow our family closer to Him. Thanks for all your prayers during this changing time. PS Jayden did well with his ear tube surgery last week. He is now crawling, pulling to stand, fanning himself with our mail, using a pincer grasp with his right hand to feed himself fruit puffs, saying bye bye, and he hears noises that he could not hear before the surgery. Jayden is imitating a roar sound of a lion figurine. Miss you all.

Well, I have no excuse except...I have been enjoying my time with Josie and Jayden. Jayden is doing well. He is now nine months old.....He is going to have ear tubes placed on July 27th. We are a little nervous about the surgery. We are praying for our physician as he uses his skilled hands on our son's ears. We are hoping that he drink better after the surgery...He has been having some problems with sucking due to pressure in his ears. Jayden is now up on hands and knees, transitioning from belly to sitting and back again. He loves to sit in his crib and bounce on the mattress. He has been saying bye bye and waving when leaving us in the morning and when leaving daycare in the afternoon. He now has five teeth with a sixth one on the way. He is imitating kissing noises when Josie and I kiss at him. Josie and I have been out salsa dancing several times in the past few months. We miss dancing and are so jealous of how much Karla has become addicted to dancing. We are very happy that you share our passion Karla... Love ya

Jayden said his first words this week. On Thursday, as we were leaving daycare to go home, he was prompted to say bye bye to his teachers as we usually do with a wave. Only this time, Jayden said bye bye with a wave of the arm. I was astonished. I thought that I was going to cry....it was so sweet to here it again as he grew more and more excited over the praises he recieved from the first bye bye......He then said it the next day at the mall when going to leave a store. You see, he was flirting with the cashier and she said bye bye and Jayden replied with another bye bye.... This weekend is our 2nd anniversary....Wow two years have gone by in the blink of an eye.....I love being married to you honey.....Thank you for saying I do..... We decided to buy a camcorder for our family on our anniversary....This way we can capture the memories of our family adventures. Maybe we can figure how to post the videos here. Hop you all enjoyed your weekend. The Wilder Family May 20, 2007

Tonight after work, Jayden and I went shopping for groceries. We were constantly interupted by women everywhere in the store. Everyone wanted to talk to Jayden. He just smiled and talked back to them. He is quite the ladies man..... Jayden met his other grandparents this weekend in Elgin SC. We drove down on Saturday morning and came back Saturday night. It was our first trip out of town with him. He did well on the car ride down and back. He did not sleep well for his naps due to being off his schedule. He was a trooper with all the family members that passed him around and not to mention the crazy neighbor who dropped him on his head. Just kidding, she didn't really drop him on his head. She sat him on the floor and thought that he could hold his own. Next thing we know she backs away and Jayden flops to the floor with his head banging hard on the floor. Needless to say, Jayden was not happy and did not want to be held by her after that. Daddy rescued him from the neighbor and held him tight. We got Jayden's Easter pictures back this weekend. They looked so cute. We tried to send some out but have to finish getting more in the mail. Jayden tried apple juice mixed with water today. He is enjoying trying to drink out of a glass. Actually he tries to bite the cup instead. Josie thinks it looks like Jayden is trying to chew the juice instead of drinking it. It is very cute, but he looses most of it on his bib. We are trying to get more fluids in to help with his digestion of baby food. Well I need to go so I will try to write soon. Hope you all had an adventurous weekend.

The Wilder family had a great weekend. We finally made it off the couch. We are feeling better and are now over the bronchitis and yucky viruses. We went yardsaling on Saturday morning, made Easter eggs in the afternoon, got Easter pictures made on Saturday evening and then had a dinner out at City Range. I had crab cakes that were made from MD crabs....ummmm. We enjoyed church on Sunday morning and then went shopping for Mommy clothes....I was tired of looking frumpy ...so we purchases some new spring clothes for me. It was nice of Josie to hold Jayden while I modeled clothes for my two men to give me feedback. Here are more pics of Jayden....I will send his formal Easter pics out soon. Family and friends: Let me know what size you prefer. I will try to get you one if I can. We ordered a couple different poses. Can't wait to see them. http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=8pqg8gei.7rnluw92&x=0&y=-mpfy2

I can't believe I am 30 years old. Yesterday was my birthday. I recieved a bouquet of flowers from Josie at work: yellow daisies and white callalilies. It was very sweet of him. When is go to Jayden's daycare, he was in a great mood. He was smiling and happy and seemed somewhat calmer. When I got home from work, Josie was arranging several bouquets of flowers for me. Kristin, Matt and my parents had sent another bouquet of flowers and Josie had bought a potted callalily as well. Our house looked like a flower shop. It smelled so good. Josie made a wonderful dinner, with Chocolate cake from Strossners. I love it. For dinner we ate grilled and marinated Filet Minon, asparagus, and portabello mushrooms with a Pinot Noir wine. Dinner was delicious. We enjoyed a quiet evening together because Jayden was tired and went to bed a little early tonight. Jayden was biting his spoon during dinner and his towel after bath time. I decided to peek in his mouth. I could not believe it, he had two front lower teeth!!! I was so excited that I yelled for Josie to come upstairs and see this new development. Since then Jayden has been mouthing all his toys and his spoon. This evening we gave him Tylenol to ease the pain. I went to the doctor today-finally have my own family practitioner. He thinks that the pain in my ribs is from inflamation in the cartilage. He wants me to take 800 mg Ibiprofen every eight hours and to not lift over 15 lbs for the next week. I reminded him that my son weights 15 lbs and 14 oz. He suggested that I really take it easy when possible so that the inflamation goes down. He poked and proded at my rib cage and sternum/chest. I can't believe how sore I feel even though I am not coughing any more. Hopefully with some rest this weekend, I will feel better by monday. I told him that it would be hard for me at work to adhere to lifting restrictions since I work with kids all day. But I am praying that this goes away soon because I would like to get back to exercising now that the weather is so warm again. Well I hope you all have a great weekend. Thanks to the Dill family for the birthday card. I got it today. It may have been here yesterday but we didn't get the mail. Thanks to Josie's parents for the gifts for our family. Hopefully Jayden will tolerate the sunglasses when he gets a little older.

The weather has been unbelievably warm here in Greenville, SC. Maybe that is why we are still fighting these viruses. Jayden has had bronchiolitis for two weeks, prior to that he had an ear infection. I am just getting over bronchitis. I held onto it for over three weeks. It now turned into pleuritis (inflamation of lining of lungs). I have horrible pain in my rib cage. This has made work and carrying Jayden difficult. Josie has been helping more with night routines of bathing and carrying Jayden upstairs due to soreness. Jayden has finally started to feel better after a week on a nebulizer (bronchio dialater) for wheezing from the bronchiolitis. Tonight, Josie and I had fun trying to exercise Jayden on his skill of rolling from his back to his belly. He still doesn't have this skill down completely. He is very independent with rolling from his belly to his back. He will do anything to get out of working hard in prone positions (belly). He is now able to prop sit for 10 seconds. It is so cute when he takes a nose dive from sitting into the bed or covers. We quickly rescue him and turn it into a fun roll. I still miss him so much when I am at work. He is now enjoying rice cereal every evening. He has recently started to grab for the spoon when it comes toward his mouth. And every time the spoon leaves to head toward the bowl, he wimpers for more. It is so cute, but you really can't do anything else while you are feeding him. No multi-tasking on that job..... Well, I am blogging one day prior to my 30th birthday. It's funny I don't really feel thirty. However, it feels weird to say I am going to be thirty tomorrow. I am enjoying life as it is. I think that I need to slow down and smell the roses more often. Josie and I have been so busy with life's routines now that Jayden is a big part of our adventures. But I love the evening and morning moments with him where I catch him in a big smile looking at his daddy or peeking at me right after his head pops through the hole of his shirt. He is so much fun. Well thanks so much to all those friends and family keeping us in your prayers while we have been battling illnesses. Hopefully April will bring long walks (with Jayden in the stroller) in spring breezes, playtime with Jayden, Mommy, and Daddy outside on a blanket in the sun, and light hikes with Jayden in the back pack. We will keep you updated as our health permits. The 3 J's

Wow, what a difference one hour makes. Last night we moved the clocks ahead an hour and I am really dragging. We missed church again this week because we have another bug. I am praying that I get to feeling better soon. I saw another urgent care doctor this week because I don't have a general practitioner. This time the doctor put me on an antibiotic. He said I have bronchitis and it may progress to pneumonia if I don't treat it quickly. I am so tired of our house being sick. Josie had the flu for a week, then Jayden had a stomach virus last weekend and since then I have been holding on to a sinus infection that turned into bronchitis. Lovely.... Jayden is doing well this week. He had his shots last friday. They said he is 27 inches long which places him in the 98th percentile, his head was 18 inches which places him in the 99th percentile and he weighs just under 15 lb. which places him in the 40th percentile. I can't seem to keep him in clothes due to his length. He is wanting to sit up more and more. He is beginning to grab his feet. The other day he pulled his sock off his foot. He is now tolerating rice cereal. We feed him 1-3 Tbsp mixed with mommy's milk every evening at dinner time. He is such a big boy sitting and eating in his bumbo chair. He gets about every third spoonful to actually stay in the mouth. It is so cute watching him learn to use his tongue to swallow instead of sucking. Well I need to go check on the handsome boy, gotta go. Hope you all had a great weekend. Karla, thanks for the update on your blog site. I am so happy you had a wonderful trip to Belize. You deserved it!!!

Jayden rolled from his belly to his back this weekend. He also is sitting up in his Bumbo chair for about 30-45 minutes without tiring. We had a good weekend relaxing with Jayden. We played and cuddled throughout the weekend. Jayden is interacting more and more. He tries to get our attention now if we are not paying him attention. http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=8pqg8gei.51h3zcsu&x=0&y=-x4cqxb

Every day is so exciting with Jayden. He is beginning to bear weight on his legs when placed in supported standing. He loves to smile in the mirror at that cute baby boy looking back at him. We practiced standing on the dresser while he looks in the mirror at himself. Jayden went to sleep within two minutes of placing him in his crib tonight. I snuck back in the room to watch him fall asleep. It was so cute, he has a habit of sucking in left index finger while grabbing his soft blanket and bringing it to his face for cuddling. He is so sweet to watch while drifting off to sleep. Tonight when I went to clip his nails he was able to grab for the clippers and tried to pull them out of my hand. His fine motor skills are rapidly increasing. Here are some added pictures from this morning before daycare with his hat on sitting in the Bumbo chair. I added them to the February list of pictures of Jayden. Sorry some are repeats..... http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=8pqg8gei.51h3zcsu&x=0&y=-x4cqxb

I can't believe how fast time is flying by. Jayden is already four months old. This weekend Josie and I had a couple over for dinner. We made Pad Thai and our friends brought key lime pie. It was a great dinner. On Saturday we attended our friends party for their daughter Emily. Emily turned four years old this week. She had a princess birthday party. There was so much food, drinks, cake and balloons everywhere. It was beautiful. Jayden had his four month old pictures taken today after church. He was a bit worn out due to the lack of a quality nap during church. He was so cute in his Pooh outfit with his classic Pooh from his Uncle Matt and Aunt Kristin. Jayden presents with a new skill almost everyday. He loves to blow raspberries/bubbles out of his mouth. He is now able to shake a rattle in a 90 degree arc with his right hand. He holds his head and chest up when propping on his forearms. He is growing like a weed. Josie and I can't keep up with his growth as far as keeping the right size of clothes nearby. He is now in 9-12 month old clothes. That's right even though he is only four months old. We sat next to a family at JC Pennys waiting to have Jayden's pictures taken. Their son was dressed in his Harley outfit and was born five days prior to Jayden. They said he is wearing 0-3 mth clothes and only weighs 12 lbs. They could not believe how big Jayden looked compaired to their son. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Jayden was seen by the doctor on friday for a consistent runny nose. The doctor said that it was probably just from the daycare and that we should find a sweet old lady to watch him at home instead of using daycare. I said easier said then done. He now weighs 15 lbs. We couldn't believe it. We took him to our friends house (Melissa and Mark) and to Steve and Nicole's house for Super Bowl Sunday. He did great with napping at our friends houses. He talked himself to sleep on their bed both times and did not cry at all. We were so happy at how well he adjusts to new surroundings. My firend Melissa and I used to work together. Melissa (Speech therapist) and I got Jayden on the therapy ball in prone and worked on head control with some linear movement. He loved the therapy ball. Here is a link to some added pictures of Jayden in his Super Bowl outfit with footballs on his feet and our time with Melissa and Mark http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=8pqg8gei.4q2m6ipi&x=0&y=-w2dqf7
